Hometech Authorized Dealer

At Quality Contracting, we know that when you need new windows, you aren't just looking for new glass — you're looking for a more comfortable, energy-efficient home. In our region, an improper installation can lead to drafts, rising heating costs, and condensation between panes that means the seal has already failed.
That's why we operate differently than competitors. Led by Reg Piquette, our team has provided hometown service since 1996. This January 2026 marks 30 years of running my own business from right here in West Nipissing. Whether you're in Sturgeon Falls, North Bay, or the surrounding communities, our goal is simple: use local expertise and premium materials to ensure your home performs for decades.

You deal with the owner from Day One to the final walkthrough. No salespeople. No runaround. Just Reg, his team, and the accountability that comes from a neighbour you can actually find.
Quality Contracting is an official Hometech Authorized Dealer in Verner Ontario offering Contour Series windows.

How We Perform Window Installation Correctly

With 30 years of exterior renovation expertise, we hold ourselves to a higher standard than some competitors. Here's how we do it right.
Step 1

Preparation & Protection

We install tarps and carefully prepare the work area before any work begins. Your floors, walls, and landscaping are protected throughout the project — because respecting your home is non-negotiable.

Step 2

Inspection & Discovery

Before new materials go up, we check for hidden problems — rotting wood, wet insulation, structural issues. Covering up problems just creates bigger problems later. If we find issues, we discuss options with you before proceeding.

Step 3

Precision Installation

Using premium materials from Hometech, Gentek, Royal, Novatech, Masonite, and Verre Select, we custom-fit each product with foam perimeter insulation, precision capping, and airtight sealing. No gaps. No drafts. No “close enough.”

Step 4

Demonstration & Final Walkthrough

Before the job is closed, Reg personally walks you through your new windows, doors, or siding — showing you how everything operates and what maintenance looks like. You get your warranty documentation, and Reg doesn’t sign off until you’re completely satisfied. That’s how it’s been for 30 years.

Window Needs in Your Neighbourhood

Our region's geography affects your home differently depending on where you live. We've been installing windows through these conditions since 1996 — we know exactly what works and what fails.
The Challenge

Lake Nipissing homeowners face relentless wind, wind-driven rain, and humidity that accelerates rot and seal failure. Standard double-pane windows lose their seal faster in these conditions, leading to condensation between panes and drafts that spike your heating bills.

Our Solution

We install our windows with proper perimeter sealing to block lakefront drafts and wind-driven moisture. We check for rot BEFORE installing — never cover up problems. We’re just down the road — Reg answers when you call.

The Challenge

Extreme temperature swings (-40°C to +35°C) stress standard windows. Mining-area homeowners value durability and low maintenance — you’ve got enough to worry about without babysitting your windows.

Our Solution

Hometech Contour Series windows are engineered specifically for extreme temperature swings. Highway 17 is our regular route — we’ve been serving Sudbury for nearly 30 years. Distance doesn’t change our commitment.

The Challenge

Traffic noise and aging housing stock are common concerns. Many homes still have single-pane or basic double-pane windows that do little for noise reduction or energy efficiency. Urban curb appeal matters in established neighbourhoods.

Our Solution

Our Windows significantly reduces both noise and heating costs. We specialize in whole-home transformations that modernize efficiency and curb appeal. Your home will be the best on the block — with heating bills to match.

The Challenge

Converting a three-season cottage to year-round? Our windows are essential for winter comfort. Remote properties face wind-driven rain and structures that sit empty for months need materials built to survive without you there.

Our Solution

We specialize in seasonal-to-year-round upgrades. Our windows handle winter cold while reducing heating costs. We know rural properties demand tougher solutions — built to survive our region’s harshest weather.

When to Repair vs. When to Replace Your Windows

We believe in honest, upfront advice. We'll never sell you a replacement if a repair is the better value.

A Repair May Work If:

Single pane cracked but frame is sound and airtightHardware issue (crank, lock) on an otherwise solid windowMinor weatherstripping wear

Replacement Is Likely Needed If:

Condensation between panes (seal failure) — this can't be fixedDrafts or high heating bills despite other efficiency measuresWindows are 15-20+ years old, single or double paneVisible rot in frame or sillDifficulty opening or closing (frame warped or out of square)

Reg Piquette has been serving West Nipissing homeowners since 1996. Raised on a dairy farm in Verner and trained in the window and door trade by his uncles who ran one of Canada’s largest renovation companies, Reg built Quality Contracting on a simple philosophy: show up when you say you will, do the job right, and stand behind your work.

30 years later, Reg still personally estimates every job and oversees every project. His crew — including Blair St. Aubin (Crew Lead/Foreman), who’s been with Quality Contracting for 24 years, and Marc St. Onge (Technician/Installer), who’s been with the team for 8 years — shares his commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and honest pricing.

When Reg’s not installing windows or checking on job sites, you’ll find him on the trails with his sled or ATV, out on the boat, or watching hockey. He’s also a proud supporter of the community — sponsoring local soccer teams, hockey programs, and volunteering wherever he’s needed.
