Windows, Doors & Siding in Sudbury

Quality Contracting provides honest, owner-operated exterior renovation services to Greater Sudbury homeowners. We’re a family-owned company founded in 1996 and led by Reg Piquette — celebrating 30 years of running his own business this January.

While our home base is in Verner, Highway 17 to Sudbury is our regular route — we’ve been making that drive for nearly three decades. We’ve worked on homes across Greater Sudbury, from New Sudbury to Minnow Lake, from Garson to Lively. You get the same meticulous installation, premium materials, and local accountability as our West Nipissing customers.

We’re not the cheapest quote you’ll get from a Sudbury contractor — and we’re okay with that. What you get with Quality Contracting is 30 years of hands-on expertise, premium materials from partners like Hometech and Royal Building Products, and workmanship from a crew that’s been with Reg for over two decades. Out-of-town contractors cut corners to cut prices. We don’t. Your home deserves better, and so does your investment.

The Warranty That Sticks: Even after the product warranty runs out, we’re still in your corner. That’s local accountability you won’t get from the franchise outfits or the big-box stores.

Protecting Sudbury Homes from Mining Country’s Toughest Conditions

Greater Sudbury is built on hard rock and hard work. The homes here need exteriors that are just as tough. Between the extreme cold, punishing freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snow loads, and an aging housing stock that’s been fighting these conditions for decades — your exterior renovation isn’t cosmetic. It’s critical. We’ve been solving these problems for Sudbury-area homeowners for nearly 30 years.

Extreme Cold & Punishing Temperature Swings

Greater Sudbury experiences some of Ontario’s most brutal temperature swings — -40°C winters and +35°C summers. That 75-degree range destroys inferior materials. Standard windows lose their seals, fogging between panes and letting cold air pour through. Doors warp and stick. Siding buckles, gaps open up, and moisture gets behind your walls where it causes invisible damage. Every winter, poorly installed exteriors cost you comfort and money.

Our Solution:
We install Hometech windows with argon gas fill — available in both double-pane and triple-pane configurations — specifically engineered for extreme Northern conditionsEvery window gets foam perimeter insulation around the entire frame — not just a few spotsEntry doors feature foam-core insulation and complete weatherstripping systems that seal out the brutal Sudbury coldPremium threshold sealing that maintains airtight performance through years of freeze-thaw cycling

Aging Housing Stock & Skyrocketing Energy Costs

Many Greater Sudbury homes were built in the 1950s through 1970s during the mining boom — with single-pane windows, minimal insulation, and siding that’s long past its lifespan. Heating costs climb every winter while comfort drops. Drafts make certain rooms unusable. And with energy prices rising, that old housing stock is costing you more every year. These homes were built tough, but their exteriors weren’t designed for today’s energy standards.

Our Solution:
We specialize in whole-home exterior transformations that modernize efficiency without losing characterNew windows can reduce heating costs by 15–25% depending on configurationInsulated siding systems cut heat loss through walls — especially critical on older homes with no wall insulationFoam-core entry doors eliminate threshold drafts that have been costing you for decadesWith financing up to $100,000, upgrading your entire exterior may be more affordable than you think

Mining Town Durability — Products That Work as Hard as You Do

Sudbury homeowners don’t have patience for products that need babysitting. You want materials that perform without constant maintenance — siding that doesn’t fade or buckle, windows that don’t fog, doors that seal tight year after year. Cheap materials and quick-fix installations might look fine on day one, but they fail fast in Sudbury’s demanding climate. Then you’re paying twice.

Our Solution:
As a Royal Preferred Contractor, we install siding systems designed for industrial-strength resilienceVinyl, aluminum, and engineered wood options that resist wind, rain, ice, and temperature extremes without constant upkeepYour warranty covers both product defects AND improper installation — because we do it right the first timeHometech Contour Series windows with Lifetime Warranty — built to outlast Sudbury winters for decades

Curb Appeal in a Competitive Real Estate Market

Greater Sudbury’s real estate market has been heating up. Your home’s exterior is the first thing buyers, neighbours, and visitors see. Faded siding, mismatched windows, and worn-out doors drag down the entire look of an otherwise well-maintained home. In established neighbourhoods like New Sudbury, Minnow Lake, and South End, exterior condition directly impacts property value — and first impressions.

Our Solution:
We specialize in whole-home exterior transformations that coordinate windows, doors, and siding into a cohesive upgradeA wide palette of colours and styles that complement your home’s architectureYour home will be the best on the block — with heating bills to matchWith financing up to $100,000, the complete transformation may be more affordable than you think

Double-Pane vs. Triple-Pane Windows: Which Is Right for Your Sudbury Home?

Double-Pane Windows

Glass Insulation: Two panes with argon gas fillHeating Savings Condensation: 15–20% reduction in heating costs Good — handles most conditions wellNoise Reduction Best For: Good noise reduction Most West Nipissing homes; excellent value and performanceInvestment: Budget-friendly with strong ROIWarranty: Lifetime Warranty

Triple-Pane Windows

Glass Insulation: Three panes (1 3/8”) with argon gas fillHeating Savings Condensation: Superior — 30% better insulation than double-pane 20–25% reduction in heating costs Excellent — virtually eliminates condensationNoise Reduction Best For: Superior sound dampening Lakefront properties; exposed locations; long-term investmentInvestment: Premium investment with maximum performanceWarranty: Lifetime Warranty

The “Quality Standard” vs. The “Cheap Fix”

In the renovation industry, a “cheap” job is often the most expensive one you’ll ever buy — because it has to be done twice. This is especially true in Greater Sudbury, where extreme cold, heavy snow loads, and punishing temperature swings destroy shortcuts faster than anywhere else in Ontario.

The “Cheap” Way

Air-filled double-pane—seals fail faster under lake humidity and freeze-thawMinimal foam—gaps become pest highways on vacant propertiesNew siding over rotting wood—damage spreads unchecked while you’re awayNo flashing—wind-driven rain and insects find every gapBasic weatherstripping—fails after first lake-effect winterContractor from Toronto—good luck getting warranty service up here

The Quality Way

Argon-filled double or triple-pane—engineered for deep-lake exposure and extreme coldFoam perimeter insulation around ENTIRE frame—sealed against cold, moisture, and wildlifeCheck ALL walls for rot and wet insulation BEFORE installingFlashing at every penetration plus taped seams—sealed against Temagami’s exposureFoam perimeter + compression weatherstripping + proper threshold sealingThe Warranty That Sticks—we’ve been on Highway 11 for nearly 30 years

The Hometown Advantage: We’re at 89 Principal Street, Verner — and Highway 17 to Sudbury is our regular route. We’re not the cheapest quote you’ll get — but we’re the one you won’t regret. Out-of-town franchise crews take your money and move on to the next city. We don’t. When something needs attention, you call the same number and we show up. That’s the difference between a price and a value.

Distance doesn’t change our commitment. You get the same meticulous installation, premium materials, and Warranty That Sticks as all our customers.

A: 30 years of hands-on expertise, premium materials from partners like Hometech and Royal Building Products, and a crew that’s been with Reg for over two decades. We’re not the cheapest quote you’ll get — but we’re the one you won’t regret. When you need service down the road, we answer the phone. That’s the Warranty That Sticks.

A: Most contractors disappear when the product warranty ends — or sooner. At Quality Contracting, we stay in your corner. If something needs fixing, you call the same number and Reg answers — not a call centre. We’ve been on Highway 17 for nearly 30 years, and we’re not going anywhere.

A: For most Sudbury homes, double-pane with argon fill delivers excellent performance at a strong value — a dramatic improvement over aging single-pane windows. For homeowners doing a complete exterior upgrade, those with the highest heating bills, or rooms with the worst drafts and exposure, triple-pane provides the best protection against Sudbury’s extreme cold. Many homeowners mix — triple-pane on exposed sides, double-pane on sheltered sides. Reg will assess your situation during the free estimate and give you honest advice.

A: Homeowners typically see 15–20% reduction in heating costs with double-pane windows and proper installation, and 20–25% with triple-pane. The exact savings depend on your current windows and home size — but with Sudbury’s long, brutal winters, the savings add up fast.

A: Often, yes — and it may be more affordable than you think. Homes built during Sudbury’s mining boom typically have single-pane windows, minimal insulation, and aging siding. A coordinated upgrade — windows, doors, and siding together — transforms efficiency, comfort, and curb appeal in one project. With financing up to $100,000, you can spread the investment over time while the energy savings start paying you back from Day One.

A: Absolutely — and that’s often the smartest approach. Coordinating windows, doors, and siding as one project ensures everything matches, costs less per item than separate projects, and transforms your curb appeal. With financing up to $100,000, a whole-home transformation may be more affordable than you think.

A: Yes. We offer financing up to $100,000 with quick approval through our partnership with Financeit. Find out if you qualify in seconds — no obligation, no commitment.

A: Yes. Every project is handled by WSIB-insured, fully licensed installation crews. We also carry $5 million in liability insurance. We handle the permits and logistics so you can have a worry-free renovation.

A: Call us at (705) 980-0895. That’s the whole point of the Warranty That Sticks. You call the same number, Reg’s team handles it. Highway 17 is our regular route — if something needs attention, we show up. No runaround, no excuses.

Reg Piquette has been serving West Nipissing homeowners since 1996. Raised on a dairy farm in Verner and trained in the window and door trade by his uncles who ran one of Canada’s largest renovation companies, Reg built Quality Contracting on a simple philosophy: show up when you say you will, do the job right, and stand behind your work.

30 years later, Reg still personally estimates every job and oversees every project. His crew — including Blair St. Aubin (Crew Lead/Foreman), who’s been with Quality Contracting for 24 years, and Marc St. Onge (Technician/Installer), who’s been with the team for 8 years — shares his commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and honest pricing.

When Reg’s not installing windows or checking on job sites, you’ll find him on the trails with his sled or ATV, out on the boat, or watching hockey. He’s also a proud supporter of the community — sponsoring local soccer teams, hockey programs, and volunteering wherever he’s needed.
