Windows, Doors & Siding in North Bay

Quality Contracting provides honest, hometown exterior renovation services to North Bay and surrounding communities. We’re a family-owned company founded in 1996 and led by Reg Piquette—celebrating 30 years of running his own business this January.

While our home base is in Verner, we’re just down Highway 17—Reg has been making that drive for nearly three decades. We’ve worked on hundreds of North Bay homes, from Downtown to West Ferris to Pinewood. You get the same meticulous installation, premium materials, and local accountability as our West Nipissing customers.

We don’t believe in the “big-box” approach where contractors disappear after the job is done. We provide a Local Quality Standard: 30 years of expertise, premium materials from partners like Hometech and Royal Building Products, and workmanship from a crew that’s been with Reg for over two decades.

The Warranty That Sticks: Even after the product warranty runs out, we’re still in your corner. That’s local accountability you won’t get from the franchise outfits.

A modern home in North Bay, Ontario, featuring energy-efficient windows, a new entry door, and premium vinyl siding installed by Quality Contracting.

Protecting North Bay Homes from Northern Ontario’s Elements

North Bay is the Gateway to Northern Ontario—a vibrant city with established neighbourhoods, busy streets, and homes that deserve to look their best. But urban living brings unique challenges: traffic noise that disrupts your peace, heating bills that climb every winter, and curb appeal that matters in neighbourhoods where everyone notices. We’ve been solving these problems for North Bay homeowners for nearly 30 years.

Urban Noise & Traffic Disruption

Busy streets, highway traffic, and neighbourhood activity create constant background noise that penetrates older windows. Single-pane and basic double-pane windows let sound pour through—making it hard to relax, sleep, or simply enjoy your home. In established North Bay neighbourhoods along Lakeshore Drive, Algonquin Avenue, and near the Highway 11/17 corridor, noise reduction isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Our Approach:

We install Hometech windows with argon gas fill—available in both double-pane and triple-pane configurations. Both dramatically reduce noise transmission compared to aging single-pane windows. Triple-pane with 1 3/8” glass provides the best available sound dampening for homes on busy corridors. Combined with foam perimeter insulation around the entire frame, your home becomes a quiet retreat from urban life.

High Heating Costs & Energy Loss

North Bay winters are brutal—-30°C and colder for weeks at a time. If your windows are older than 15–20 years, you’re likely heating the outdoors. Single-pane windows, failed seals, and drafty doors let warm air escape while cold air pours in. Every winter, that’s money out the window—literally.

Our Solution:

New windows with argon fill can reduce heating costs by 15–25% depending on configuration. We insulate the entire frame perimeter with foam—not just a few spots. Entry doors feature foam-core insulation and complete weatherstripping that eliminates threshold drafts. And we always check for rotting wood and wet insulation before new materials go up—because covering up problems just creates bigger problems.

Curb Appeal in Established Neighbourhoods

In North Bay’s established neighbourhoods—West Ferris, Pinewood, Northgate—curb appeal matters. Your home’s exterior is the first thing neighbours, visitors, and potential buyers see. Faded siding, mismatched windows, and worn-out doors drag down the entire look of a well-maintained home. And in a competitive real estate market, exterior condition directly impacts property value.

Our Solution:

We specialize in whole-home exterior transformations that coordinate windows, doors, and siding into a cohesive upgrade. As a Royal Preferred Contractor, we offer a wide palette of colours and styles that complement your home’s architecture. Your home will be the best on the block—with heating bills to match. And with financing up to $100,000, the complete transformation may be more affordable than you think.

Double-Pane vs. Triple-Pane Windows: Which Is Right for Your North Bay Home?

Double-Pane Windows

Two panes with argon gas fillExcellent—significant upgrade from single-pane15-20% reduction in heating costsGood—handles most conditions wellGood noise reductionMost Hagar homes; excellent value and performanceBudget-friendly with strong ROILifetime Warranty

Triple-Pane Windows

Three panes (1 3/8") with argon gas fillSuperior—30% better insulation than double-pane20-25% reduction in heating costsExcellent—virtually eliminates condensationSuperior sound dampeningMaximum comfort; exposed locations; long-term investmentPremium investment with maximum performanceLifetime Warranty

The “Quality Standard” vs. The “Cheap Fix”

In the renovation industry, a “cheap” job is often the most expensive one you’ll ever buy—because it has to be done twice. In North Bay’s competitive real estate market, cutting corners on your exterior doesn’t just cost you comfort—it costs you property value.

The “Cheap” Way

Air-filled double-pane—seals fail faster under lake humidity and freeze-thawMinimal foam—gaps become pest highways on vacant propertiesNew siding over rotting wood—damage spreads unchecked while you’re awayNo flashing—wind-driven rain and insects find every gapBasic weatherstripping—fails after first lake-effect winterContractor from Toronto—good luck getting warranty service up here

The Quality Way

Argon-filled double or triple-pane—engineered for deep-lake exposure and extreme coldFoam perimeter insulation around ENTIRE frame—sealed against cold, moisture, and wildlifeCheck ALL walls for rot and wet insulation BEFORE installingFlashing at every penetration plus taped seams—sealed against Temagami’s exposureFoam perimeter + compression weatherstripping + proper threshold sealingThe Warranty That Sticks—we’ve been on Highway 11 for nearly 30 years

The Hometown Advantage: We’re at 89 Principal Street, Verner—just down Highway 17 from North Bay. Out-of-town franchise crews take your money and move on to the next city. We don’t. When something needs attention, you call the same number and we show up. That’s the difference between a price and a value.

A: For homes on quieter residential streets, double-pane with argon fill delivers excellent thermal performance and noticeable noise reduction at a strong value. For homes along busy corridors like Lakeshore Drive, Algonquin Avenue, or near the Highway 11/17 intersection, triple-pane provides the best sound dampening and lowest heating costs. Many homeowners also mix—triple-pane on busy-facing sides, double-pane on quieter sides. Reg will assess your situation and give you honest advice.
